Archgard FK-38 Fireplace Blower Fan Kit for Marquis 38. Aftermarket FK-38 fan kit for the Archgard Marquis 38. Replaces the original tangential (squirrel cage) style blower for a more powerful 180CFM dual centrifugal model. Kit is also paired with the OEM style thermostat sensor and speed controller. FK-38 Blower Kit Installation. Disconnect the power before stripping or joining any supply wires. Only qualified persons should attempt to make incoming supply wire connections. Remove the lower louver by lifting up and out. Install the fan first. Gently slide right end of the fan into the bottom left side of the gas fireplace. Rotate the fan as it passes by the aluminum gas line. Position blower at center of rear wall and leave blower 1/8 off the rear wall to avoid any metal on metal contact. Run 120VAC power line through the wire clamp on the left side of the fireplace and into the bottom of the gas fireplace. Connect a grounding wire to the side of gas fireplace. A screw hole is provided for this purpose. Connect the two bare ended wires from the speed controller assembly to the power line. Slide the thermal snap switch into the “U” clip located underneath the firebox bottom at the left front corner. Neatly tie down and tuck the wires down at the bottom and to the back of the fireplace. CAUTION: Do not allow any wires to touch the bottom of the firebox. Otherwise, the wires will melt and short-out. Remove the speed controller knob. Using the two black screws, screw the speed controller bracket to the bottom left sidewall of the gas fireplace. Make sure there are no wires exposed at the front. Tighten the wire clamp.
