Product Details – FK12 Fireplace Blower Kit. The FK12 fan kit is designed to fit a number of fireplaces, including many models from Monessen, Vermont Castings, Heatilator, Majestic, FMI and CFM. The blower kit includes all of the components you’ll need to successfully install a blower into your fireplace for the first time. Our FK12 blower kit comes fully pre-assembled & pre-wired and mounts universally with the supplied Velcro strips. The FK12 is a constant speed blower kit. It DOES NOT include a rheostat or thermostat. Because of this, the FK12 must be used with a designated wall switch that has been installed specifically for the blower (electrical outlet below fireplace). If a wall switch is not present, a fan kit with a thermostatic option is required. Unlike most of our competitors who use inferior sleeve bearing motors, our FK12 kit uses a much higher quality ball bearing motor. Ball bearings last longer and operate more efficiently than their sleeve bearing counterparts. In addition to the ball bearing motor, we also use a ball bearing outboard bearing. The outboard bearing is the red cap you see opposite the motor. Our use of ball bearings in our outboard bearing reduce end play in the shaft and provide a much smoother and longer lasting blower assembly.
