The Forte 40 wide Electric Fireplace is a uniquely designed electric fireplace by Touchstone that was made to accommodate customers who wanted to see a narrower edition of our Sideline model. Unlike the Onyx fireplace which is designed to be mounted to your wall, the Forte is designed to be recessed into your wall while also allowing you to use its heating feature. Similar to the Sideline, the Fortes heating feature is designed so that the heat is released through the front of the unit. Therefore, recessing your Forte within your wall is not a fire hazard. However, unlike the Sideline, the Forte is much taller and narrower in size making it the perfect shape for smaller walls. Another feature that makes the Forte unique is its stone flame. While most of Touchstones fireplace models have an electric flame which rises from a cluster of faux wood logs, the Fortes flame rises from a pile of white stones at the base of the unit. Like all Touchstone electric fireplaces, the Forte Electric Fireplace gives you the beauty and warmth of a fireplace without the open flame, smell or cleanup. This electric fireplace heats up to 400 square feet with 5 flame settings and 2 heat settings (1000W and 1500W). A heat-free setting lets you enjoy the realistic flames of the fireplace all year round. The Forte Electric Fireplaces design allows both recessed wall installation and wall mounted installation. The heat vents for both units are on the front glass displays so that the heating features can be used when recessed into your wall. The Forte Electric Fireplace has smaller 3/4inch heat vents, compared to the Sideline Electric Fireplaces 1-inch heat vents. Size-wise, the Forte Electric Fireplace is 6.5 inches taller and 10 inches narrower than the Sideline Electric Fireplace, which may make in-wall installation easier in some instances. The Forte Electric Fireplace boasts our tallest flame display, which gives the look of a more intense fire. The base of the Forte Electric Fireplace is accented with stones, while the Sideline Electric Fireplace features wood logs at the flame base. The Forte Electric Fireplace is designed for insertion in your wall. Complete instructions are available in the downloadable manual, Mounting the Forte Electric Fireplace into a recessed position can be accomplished by mounting from the back panel of the fireplace (6 screw holes) or from the side using vertical supports (4 screws). The glass display area is securely held in place by four bracket hooks and four screws. For installation, simply remove this glass cover to access the mounting screw holes. As with all electric fireplaces, Touchstone recommends placement of the Forte Electric Fireplace at least 20 inches below your ceiling. In some instances, customers have placed the Forte Electric Fireplace under a wall mounted, flat screen television. When mounted below a TV, we recommend mounting the fireplace at least 12 inches below bottom of the TV. The Forte Electric Fireplace can be mounted on your wall, instead of inside it. By removing the glass front, the screw holes for mounting are clearly exposed on the back of the unit, and make wall hanging easy. Note, before mounting your Forte Electric Fireplace, insert the included white stones onto the flame base tray inside of the fireplace unit. 2 heat settings (high and low).
